About Gruesome Joe

JosephWilliamsGruesome Joe is the host of the “Musical Morgue” music review segment on the Haunt Industry’s best podcast: Rotting Flesh Radio.  Played by actor, director, composer Joseph Williams, he tries to walk the fine line between musical jargon and basic English and provide for the listener an in-depth music review and critique while maintaining an entertaining approach.  Gruesome Joe is an avid music lover and is always open to any and all forms of horror/haunt-related/crazy fun music that would be a good fit for the show.  If you’re interested in submitting your music to him for a possible review, please visit the CD/Music Submission page for details.

During the day, Joseph plays the part of a Finance Manager for a national pet magazine.  However–at night his true, fun nature bears its teeth.  He becomes a dark, creative madman–conquering both sonics and visuals through both music and graphic and web design.  He is the owner of Gruesome Greetings (your source for spooky, horror themed greeting cards! {sorry for the plug}) and is a (very) freelance web and graphic designer.  He has been a musician all his life, and plays everything from tuba to pianos and synths, from accordion to the drums, from guitars to the medieval psaltry…  He enjoys music with all his heart and respects how much all genres and styles of music play to the individual listening to it.

Joseph has always enjoyed the haunted attraction industry, and has played an active roll in it for the last several years.  Throughout high school and college, Joseph acted in haunts throughout central Indiana and helped design and rework multiple portions of haunts both indoor and outdoor, trail-style haunts.   He became best know for portraying old, dead, funny guys–and was really good at making an entire room very uncomfortable without even uttering a word (or moan, or shriek, or…)  Most recently, Joseph has been working with the fine folks over at Dream Reapers–finally utilizing his degree in theatre!

Some disclosure regarding my reviews:

I am in no way paid or supported by any of the artists, record companies, producers, or anyone else affiliated with the albums I choose to review.  I provide my honest opinion on each recording and try to offer my best insights as to their usefulness and quality.  I often times give good reviews because I choose to only review those albums that I enjoy (no need to spend all that time and effort on an album that I can’t give good recommendations for).  So sit back and relax knowing I’m doing this for the fun of it and to help spread the word about some great albums and artists that I think you too will enjoy!
